After a 70-year exile to Babylon, God’s people returned to Jerusalem, concerned with their own paneled houses rather than rebuilding his temple. They did not care about his presence in the city or in their lives. To get their attention, God withdraw his blessing and they encountered tough times.

The ancient prophet Haggai reminds these former exiles to reprioritize their lives. It is an important reminder for us today as well.
