Forty Days with the Risen King

Epilogue

Following Jesus

Later Resurrection Appearances, Commission, and Ascension

Resurrection Sunday is not the end of the Gospel story. During the following weeks Jesus confirms the reality of his resurrection, restores and commissions his followers, and ascends as the reigning Lord.

Why this movement matters

The theological center

The risen Jesus transforms doubt into worship and disciples into witnesses. His authority extends over heaven and earth; his mission reaches every nation; his presence continues with his people; and his ascension announces that the crucified and risen Son reigns until he returns.

Read with all four Gospels

One life, four complementary witnesses

The chronology helps us see when and where events unfold. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John also preserve distinct emphases that should be heard on their own terms. The lesson pages identify the relevant Gospel accounts so the movement can be studied without flattening their witness.
