Pentecost means the mission of the risen King is not sustained by human enthusiasm. God Himself dwells among His people and supplies what they need to speak, serve, endure, and love.
This makes every congregation more than a voluntary association. The Spirit gathers diverse people into one body, gives gifts for the common good, and turns ordinary believers toward the world Christ came to redeem.
